In the challenging times that we face today, there has never been a better time for the UK manufacturing and industrial sector to embrace the use of technology and automation.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, we have seen many examples of the importance of UK manufacturing. For example, the unprecedented supply chain demand of certain essential household goods (toilet rolls spring to mind), the diversification of production lines in switching from making process equipment to medical devices (such as ventilators) and I’m sure you would have heard how Scottish whisky distilleries quickly turned their ‘hands’ to producing sanitiser products. These examples all required quick-thinking engineers and production managers to innovate, rise to the challenge of a rapidly changing world and embrace the opportunities that were presented.
We also must not forget those working in the pharmaceutical industry that are faced with the task of developing vaccines, life-supporting drugs and virus testing solutions to help us all through this global health crisis.
For over 40 years, Routeco has been supporting the industrial sector and helping customers to overcome manufacturing challenges by utilising new technology. These technologies allow for high-speed, reliable automation of processes and do not require the observing of social distancing protocols!
