The Coronavirus has put the health systems of countries around the world decidedly to the test; and since February 2020, due to the unexpected and substantial increase in patient numbers, new hospitals and clinics are being constructed. The UK, Italy, China, and The United States, among others, have all created purpose-built facilities. Russia alone has involved its armed forces in the construction of no less than 16 new state-of-the-art fully equipped structures in less than a month.
As one might expect, countless electrical components such as relays, timers, and sockets are vital to the infrastructure that supports the medical industry’s battle to contain and combat COVID-19 – not just the lighting and temperature control of operating theatres and specialist health units, or electrical control panels throughout the hospital, but also cased within vital, life-saving equipment used on the front line to treat patients.
When approached by a local partner, Finder’s Russian subsidiary provided technical consultancy and prioritised logistical support to supply Finder products for the swift manufacturing of essential medical equipment.
One of these products was the company’s Type 80.01 modular timers, which were specified for use in the manufacturing of specialist devices to administer medication. These timers are both multi-function and multi-voltage, and have high input/output isolation, with six-time scales ranging from 0.1 s to 24h. The features also make this timer ideal for a wide range of applications from building automation and elevators, to electrical control panels.
Another product supplied by Finder was its 40 Series miniature PCD/plug-in relays, used in the creation of air ionizers designed to damage and kill bacteria as part of a project at the centre of the fight against Coronavirus.
Furthermore, Finder products have been used in a diverse number of installations and equipment in Russia in both the new build structures and the upgrades to existing hospitals.
Finder products such as the 40 Series miniature PCB/plug-in relays, and the 80 Series modular timers are also being used to combat COVID-19 in the Kommunarka settlement on the outskirts of Moscow in its hospital for infectious diseases.
Through two different distributors, Finder supplied this hospital with Type 40.52 PCB/plug-in relays with 95 Series sockets, and Type 80.01 modular timers.
The Type 40.52 PCB/plug-in relays are also used in a multitude of medical equipment and devices, and are perfect for use in electrical control panels, industrial automation and much more.
Other examples of Finder products in Russian hospitals include the Type 40.51 PCB/plug-in relays, used for air ionizers to damage and kill bacteria; and (mounted on 95 Series sockets) in electrical control panels.
With over 27 sales subsidiaries around the globe, Finder continues to support its customers and partners worldwide in the fields of medical and hospital devices and equipment in the fight against the Coronavirus emergency. It is committed to maintaining its efforts in the fight to contain and defeat COVID-19.
